If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

After exactly three month on the diet, I am still in pain and i lost weight. Some improvements, but not as I would like. I guess it takes time... I am gonna keep going, and I am starting with suplements again (gave it a month break). I found out that Calcium from Solgar is starchy, after testing with iodine (thanks for the warning kiwi) I am doing potassium, cod liver oil, oregano oil, bone broth (kinda see it as a suplement), propolis and will add glutamine to the equation. Anyone tried glutamine? I have 1000mg pils, and in the box it says "2 after intense workout and 1 before bed". Givin the pain I cant do much workout, only slow and soft movements. Will it work on the gut anyway? Any tips on the dosage?

I take 5g of L-Glutamine daily. My doctor told me that I could take up to 10g daily. Research an appropriate dosage for your situation.
Kind Regards, Jay

Hi Tiago,
Jon tried glutamine for a couple of months. Didn't seem to do anything for him. Didn't harm him, but didn't notice any improvement either.

Hey tiago,
About not seeing an improvement ...
I had the same problem until very recently. I've been on the diet for about 3 months with pretty average results, still in alot of pain and still struggling alot. I thought i was one of the unlucky people where the diet doesnt work. But recently ive had very minimal pain, this is the best ive been on the diet. Its because i eliminated bacon and ham that i was eating, they both had starch. So these two things were crippling me. Im not out of the woods yet but im feeling a hell of a lot better. Hopefully i continue to improve.
So i guess im saying, 1 thing your eating is may be crippling you. Keep fighting, dont give up

I will seb, i will, and giving up (even if sometimes it crosses my mind) is not part of the plans. thanks for the support I am almost sure i am not eating anything starchy but i will have to double check on everything probably. I was in pain for 7 years, with poor nutrition (AS wise), lots of stress, no exercise. With all of this, i guess it will take some time to heal...that's my theory at least I am aware of your ups and downs through your posts. You are a tough guy with a strong spirit. Keep it up and hopefully you can kick your AS!

About the Glutamine supplement, do we really need it? Our NSD diet is high on meat/protein. And meat is known as a source of glutamine from food..

i was thinking on giving it a shot. for the gut effects it's suppose to have. most people with gut problems - like me - also suffer from malabsorbtion, so i'm not sure i can get all i need from meat.
34. Some rheumys say AS stage 1-2 some others say USpA Also UC - rectocolitis. UC curently in remission since feb 2011. AS/USpA remission march-aug 2011. Flare - sept-nov 2011 (antibiotics). Well, I dont know if we really need it or not. Apparently Glutamine helps in healing the gut, so i will give it a try.
