Michelle,
I know all of us wish we could be there foir a bit to encourage you and lift you up!

Psalms 15:4-5
4 who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath
even WHEN IT HURTS,
5 who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

He who does these things
WILL NEVER BE SHAKEN.

IT IS NOT THAT, "THINGS" WILL BE OK, YOU MY PRECIOUS FRIEND WILL BE, OK. Cause you are stronger than earthly possessions, you know what it is to love and be loved.

Yea...sure not what you want to hear..I know this might sound mean, and please don't take it this way because you know I love you girl, but you know how some people can just handle things better with grace..that is you! You have been given so much with this stinkin illness or disease and like you said ALL OF THIS..the hurricanes all of it, and although we have never met (one day we will) I can just always sense a calm about you..you just know how to keep it together, maybe not on the inside but on the outside.

I am not trying to minimize in the least what is happening, it is atrocious and I can't imagine being in the middle of something like this, I love the ocean, always have wanted to live by it, would be there every day with my kids, I can't imagine being told I couldn't go or watching dead fish wash up or seeing birds and gulls struggling to survive,,,hey I watched that Dawn commercial me and the kids would be loading them all up trying to find new homes for them.

I deal with alot too and I do my best to keep it together, being a Mom to 4 and a Nana to almost 5 as the matriarch of the family (and I know that you know) you have to be..your kids require it, the grands demand it. I know at times I falter and with my depression there are alot of days I fail, I will pray to God and tell him I just can;t take it or do it anymore..seems like when that happens God will send something, even if only our 12 year old son comes and lays with me for just a brief minute and tells me I am the best Mom in the whole world...makes me know it is all worth while and that I do have a place here as broken and fragile as I am I am still needed.

You know if you need anything from us (our family) all you have to do is ask..anything!

You are stronger than you think, you have a heart of gold and you are a dear, dear friend to many people on here..love ya girl dont know how much clearer I can get. you are an inspiration and a hero in my book.

I think that about alot of people here but I try not to tel too many too fast because it always seems to give them the big head..lol JK

Like right now I am not in a good place, not going to load you with the details as so not importent to what is going on with you but in the past I have had jaw inflammation and let me tell you for those who have suffered that it is hard to eat, talk and it feels like a constant migraine, the only thing keeping me together at this point is huge doses of pain killers and steroids. I would go for some jaw shots but with our changing insurance and the good ol 5000 deductible im kind of screwed right now..so if you get a chance please pray for me I need all the strength I can muster right now.

Love ya lots girl, please keep us updated..I so want to know that someday me and the fam can come ride in that wonderful shrimp boat (kids have been watching deadliest catch..lol)and just visit with a dear, dear friend.

Hugs,

Lisa

I just can't express my feelings about what is happening down there. I love to go camping at the beach in N Calif. The seashore is one of the most beautiful things in the world. My heart just breaks to think of all the damage that the oil can do. In So. Calif, we used to go to the beach all the time. In some places the oil would just bubble out of the sand and make the beach all sticky with a tar-like substance. Sometimes it would get on our feet. It's bad stuff.

I hate to think about all you and your neighbors have gone through over the last few years. I wish there was something we could do.

You have our prayers.
Donna

Thank you so much Donna..I've been hearing on the news that they're now concerned that the oil may affect Florida and there's a remote possibility that it may even make it around to the Atlantic side of Florida...I pray not...and again, thank you for keeping us in your prayers...xxooxx

I live not much further to the industries than anyone in Mossville. I do not work for any industry but I have many relatives that do. There are many cities and towns along the gulf coast that has the same situation. The main reason people choose to live here is due to the economic rewards that these industries have brought. These industries provide the nation a valuable and necessary product for every single American to have the standard of living we enjoy. Everyone who lives in these communities knows full well the risk implied.

Most of the toxins are a result of the older days before strict standards were introduced. The industries here came into being during WWII to help fight the war and were operated by the federal government. The EPA and DEQ did not exist back then and as far as today standards, the conditions were horrendous. Bayou D'Inde is probably the most polluted place in our area. Most of the industries dumped directly into this estuary without impunity. I believe it is on the superfund list but none will dare dredge this waterway because they simply do not know what is down there and that dredging will cause the pollution to drift downstream which would be a disaster.

Personally, if anyone does not want to endure such risk for reward, sale your place and move. There will always be somebody who will buy. I also believe that industry should not be careless with our health and environment. If they break the current laws, they should be held accountable. Just like the oil spill, fine the hell out of them and make them clean it up, but there is no reason to discontinue all drilling when it is done safely. People still have to make a living down here.

Taberge, with all due respect, it's very easy to say just up and sell. It's not just livelihood that's at stake here, it's generations of history and an entire ecosystem. This is no natural disaster like a hurricane. Fact is that this occurred because proper regulations were not enforced. I appreciate where you're coming from, but this is nobody's fault that lives there. But they are the ones who will lose. Big time.

Hugs,

Kat
