If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

HI! I'm 26 and was diagnosed when i was 18 but have been suffering since i was about 14! I'm going to try the NSD but I'm worried that ill lose weight, I really can't afford to lose weight because I'm already thin and losing weight would make me look sick. Is there any alternatives that can be taken to replace what you lose by cutting out the high carb starch food? Thinking about it i'd actually like to gain a bit of weight! Thanks!

Eat as much good fats as you can. By "good fats", I mean try not to go overboard with highly processed vegetable oils or fatty grain-fed meats because they have a lot of the omega 6 stuff that promotes inflammation. I've been eating butter/ghee, virgin coconut oil, eggs, and lots of homemade yogurt made out of organic half-and-half (more butterfat than even whole-milk yogurt). Meats from animals that get to graze instead of eating grains also have "good fats", but in some parts of the world are quite expensive and hard to find. http://inflammation911.com/omega-6-starts-inflammation-omega-3-stops-it/http://www.truthaboutabs.com/grass-fed-beef.htmlhttp://www.fitnessspotlight.com/2010/04/15/grass-fed-beef-meat/One caveat with the coconut oil -- I learned from Light on this forum that you should not overdo it. It can make you feel kind of sick if you suddenly eat a huge amount. I melt a tablespoon or two and mix into my yogurt, or use a similar amount to fry an egg or two. Note: I haven't figured out to actually gain weight on NSD; this is just to maintain. Have been the same (thin) weight for 6 months now, but at least I haven't shrunk to the cancer patient/anorexic build like I was afraid of. And, I'm feeling pretty good now, not even having to take over-the-counter NSAID more than a few times a month (do take boswellia anti-inflammatory supplements every day, but at least that doesn't lead to heartburn/ulcers/gut damage like NSAIDs).

It's tough and at your age I understand. I lost 18 pounds in three months. I am 6 foot 4 and weighed 180 prior to NSD. But I couldnt stand the pain anymore.

Hi
You will lose some weight when you start the NSD no matter what you do as your body adjusts to the change in diet. But you can gain it back over time.
The thing is not to be scared of fat and also the one thing that helped above all for my husband Jon was eating coconut flour baked stuff....chocolate cake, pancakes, muffins, cookies, slices.
All the best

I've been researching high-fat diets for a while now. Do some research on your own, and see what you think. The evidence is fairly convincing.
You shouldn't have trouble keeping weight on with the calories in fat. The hardest part is the price and availability of the good fats you need, but with time, you learn where to shop and how to save money doing it.
