If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi: I had a difficult surgery. I woke to a beautiful Wednesday afternoon after surgery. I felt good and I had an opportunity to talk to R. McLeod, the surgeon. First thing he said, "When I seen the damage to the plastic socket liner, I did not think I could reconstruct the prosthesis and do the bone graft as planned! When I exposed your hip prothesis, chips, chunks of plastic and metal filings poured out of the wound with the blood! But I was able to do it! Unfortunately, you lost a lot blood in the process.". Wednesday was difficult. Wednesday night was difficult with hourly monitoring due to low blood pressure. Thursday was very busy with the constant monitoring and the blood transfusions. All of this in a drug induced state. During this time I thought the food was okay until the drugs wore off! I asked a friend to bring me a sampling from the Oriental Gardens Restaurant. Too bad I had a small appetite. Monday afternoon I was released from the chaos to sunny, breezy, fresh air and Autumn colours. I feel good and I am comfortable at home. To our good health. Take care. ...Tom

Good grief, Tom, what a thing to hear!! I'm glad they were able to proceed as planned in the end, and that you are now home and recuperating. You must have been really drugged up to think hospital food was anywhere near good! Take care of you, please. Warm hugs,
Kat

Glad the surgeon was able to do what he planned to do to help you. Sorry about the complications, but you are doing fine now. Hospital food always tastes better with drugs, though. Good to have a friend bring Chinese. Get well soon!

Hi Tom,
It's good to hear that you are home again now and comfortably recovering. Wow, it is a good thing that your surgeon got you bumped in early! I would hate to think of how bad it would have been if you'd had to wait any longer and really hard to imagine how you were walking at all beforehand. My goodness you must be tough!
I hope the rest will be easier on you and that your new hip will be feeling good soon!!
To Your good health! mig

Wow! That was some surgery. I am so glad that you are home now. If you thought the hospital food was good, they must have had you on some very good drugs. Take care of yourself, get lot's of rest and do what your doctor told you to do. Do you have enough help at home to take care of you? I sure hope so. Donna

Hi Tom, I'm glad you're home now and staying comfortable. Wow, that sounds like one gruesome surgery. I'm happy you had a good surgeon to handle the job. Have a speedy recovery!

Well just remember all the fun you had wearing out that hip while hiking in the mountains over the years. Hope you have a quick recovery and get to put on the hiking boots soon! Best wishes
