If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi to all, My Remicade infusion is due. I am planning to take it on 5th Oct. I have a very mild sore throat. I am already taking antibiotics. Can I take the infusion with very mild sore throat. I have no other issues such as fever or so. Regards,
JAY

Hi Jay,
I am surprised that you'd be prescribed antibiotics for only a mild sore throat, but if they suspect a bacterial infection then they may want you to be finished the course of antibiotics and be satisfied that you're feeling better, otherwise they may push your infusion schedule out another week.
You still have 6 days so hopefully you'll be better and your infusion will go ahead as planned. Just mention it to the doc when you go in and they will check you and decide. No fever is a good sign.
Hope you are feeling better soon! mig

Hi Jay, just to clarify, are you taking the antibiotics for the sore throat, or are they for something else that happened previous to the sore throat?
Your doc could do a quick throat culture to help rule out a bacterial infection, and then you'd have a better idea.
Sure hope it's nothing major and you get better soon!

Hi Mig, Thank you for your response. The antibiotics are prescribed by our local doctor who is a general physician. I think I shall inform my rheumy (over phone) before infusion. Regards,
JAY

My Pharmacist said that we should not take a Biologic if we are taking an antibiotic. He said that the antibiotic could affect the way that the Biologic worked. I think that is how I understood it. Donna

Hi Donna, Thank you. My rheumy adviced me to complete the dose and take infusion. Accordingly, I completed the course of antobiotics. Took the infusion three days later i.e Yesterday.
Regards. JAY
