Well I made it through the art and music festival. I wasn't out of place at all, there were some punk rocker types there. There were a couple ladies there with purple and pink hair, the thing was they were in there 50's. About every shape and size of person was there.
The bands were really good.I am not a bluegrass person but the one group was great. The lady playing bass really got after it. We had a good time. I picked up a sterling belt buckle of a mother mule facing her baby. The silversmith died three months ago from cancer, his wife was there with a lady selling wood furniture. I asked why she was selling the buckles etc. She smiled and said he would want people to enjoy them, besides she had kept plenty for herself and kids.
Weather has been great, I have met a lot of people from all over the US and Canada. I have done a lot of listening. The diversity and experiences and life stories from all over are amazing.

The weather has been beautiful here in Boulder the last two days. The art and music festival has been enjoyable. For a small event they have had some very good bands, I was pleasantly surprised. I continue to meet a lot of very nice people from all over. I have even met a few who are afflicted with the dreaded claustraphobia problem I have. Jayme and I are traveling to Great Falls to the Charles Russell museum today when I get out of here. I do need to put in a plug here on how clean the rooms at the mine motel are, plus the mine facilities. The owner Pat is friendly and a pleasure to visit.
I think next time(ya I will be back I think) I will bring my fishing gear and do some fishing some awsome looking streams around Boulder.

Well today is the last day. We were headed to Great Falls yesterday to the Charles Russell museum. Jayme checked on line for an address and saw that it was closed on mondays, new fall hours. So we went to the historical museum in Helena. It was nice they had one Charles Russell painting I had never seen it was donated by the Mackay family along with a lot of other pictures and sculptures.
We are going to go home through Yellowstone this will add three hours of driving time but thats alright, maybe We will see some wildlife. I have not even seen a deer this whole trip.
A group of people camme in from Canada yesterday, eight in all they seem to have a good time all the time. One lady is 89 she is one her third husband I think. His name is Dick but she slips up and calls him George(her last husband who passed away) He is good natured about it, I hope I am as mobile as they are when I am in my late 80's and early 90's.
Met a lady here from Washington, she brought her dad here for years he had AS. He was in pretty bad shape when they started coming here. She said the mine brought relief for about 10 months then he would start going downhill and they would head back. She had Hodgkins disease at 18 years old and started coming into the mine with her Dad. Said she is a success story for Hodgkins.

i was watching Bear Grylls last night on TV, he was in dropped into the rocky mountains. He done some pretty cool "hand" fishing for salmon. what he did was look around the edges of the streams for trapped fish in the small water holes. he caught a couple nice ones with his bare hands... whistle .
if you find any dynomite laying around the mines thats great for fishing too grin2 .

I have seen the hercules fishing method in action. It is pretty effective. You have to watch for the bird and bunny truck though.

Hey Darrel,

desert and red rocks sounds more like paradise. Some of your photos have made it look that way, too.

Well I am going to keep this short and sweet. I am feeling great, my fingers are no longer sore and swollen in some of the joints. Took my mom,Dad and neighbor elk hunting. They are all in their 70's. My neighbor has had two heart attacks and currently has cancer. I walked my tail off, they all got elk. I was the head guide cook and bottle washer. I introduced tomatoes into my diet two weeks ago so far no problem. Last time I tried them it was flare city. I will stay NSD along with a little Montana mine air.
