Hi yall...well, it's been awhile and I really, really missed everyone but I've just been too sick to post these past few months...anyway, on to the point...I made an appt. yesterday to go to Shreveport but I got the news that my rheumy is scheduled for ward rounds through mid-Dec. and then out of the country until after New Year's, so I have to wait until Janviere 08 to go...I was just so hoping to see the rheumy during such a bad flare...and I'm having new symptoms, I think I may have Reynaud's and Sjogrens, I'm not going to worry about that too much until it's confirmed but Mom had both and I'm pretty familiar with how they present...but oh well, it is what it is... crazy On an interesting but not AS related note, we went to a townhall meeting last night...they informed us that if we want to rebuild, we must elevate 17 feet, if you're plans don't meet that criteria, you simply won't be issued the neccessary permits!! shocked ...I want my tax money back, the funds obviously have not been put to good use!!! grin I hope all is well with everyone, big hugs & much love!!! grin

Hi Erica...yes, January 08 is good, it just doesn't normally take that long to get in and I'm hoping that when my rheumy does see me that my Enbrel dosage will be kicked back up to twice a week to get this back under control...I was hoping for improvement before the holidays but...oh well...yes, the permit situation, when I explained to them that I'd have to ascend up 17 steps and back down again just to use the restroom, if I was outside, the Parish Planner said, "that's what they make elevators for!!!" shocked And of course I, I said..."if you think I'm going to put an elevator in for bathroom breaks, you're out of your mind!!! grin

Well I'm and sorry that you have to wait so long to see the doc.

For the other issue, I have to agree with the state even though you have valid personal issues with the new building codes.

The building height is to protect the owners and the state. If it were up to me, I would allow for anyone to build at any height if the owners sign a waiver that if they do not comply with the recommended codes their structure would be declared uninsurable and no funds from the state could be sought at a future date if the next hurricane lands and wipes it off the map.

A possible solution for you is to build a 1/2 bath on the ground floor for restroom breaks.

Hi Michelle,

Good to see you checking in, hope the appointment on the 6th goes well.

So does this mean you are not building?

Hey Michelle,
Boy January is a long time to wait when your flaring this bad. That just sucks.

And now the parish is going to make you build 17' up? Hhhhmmmm
Good point about the bathroom breaks.. The elevator is a nice touch if the gov't is buying..Yeah Right tongue4 Better start that climb plenty early.. roll So they're lifting you out of the water and making you a kite to the wind. Why not put in some kind of "GO GO GADGET" legs that will pick you up when that next storm blows through. clap Yeah that's it, a big set of arms reach around and grab the foundation and pick the building up on a set of Gadget legs..Let me work on that! floor

Take care, I hope that this flare calms down for you.

Keep Kickin'AS
Chris
