If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Combining aerobic and resistance training appears helpful for patients with diabetes (November 25, 2010) -- Performing a combination of aerobic exercise and resistance training was associated with improved glycemic levels among patients with type 2 diabetes, compared to patients who did not exercise, according to a new study. The level of improvement was not seen among patients who performed either aerobic exercise or resistance training alone. ... > full story http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/11/101123174340.htm------------------## There seems to be a plethora of fitness and training articles emerging. We are seeing it for OA, AS, RA and now for the diabetic. Excellent. Would be good IF it could trickle down to hospitals implementing such fitness programmes for their patients - some hospitals have such programmes, i.e. Bath, the Min, and CircleBath has just put one into practice (terrific)and another one such is at Grimsby. Wish it were put into practice here in France...sigh.

I need one for idiots who persist in trying to do things their body simply cannot do anymore, thereby suffering several days of "WHY DID I DO THAT?" agony. Seriously, I got into the pool on Wednesday and it was at least 4F colder than usual. So after I was done with my laps, I decided to try out a new kick and also attempt to dive to the bottom of the pool a couple of times.

and this is why i gave up the swimming until i got my SI joint back under control. i'd go in and say "ok, no breast stroke (kick)!" and then after a few laps i'd be feeling good and throw abandon to the wind, only to irritate my SI joint (with that kick i'm sure). its my favorite stroke, easiest on my upper back, free style is what tore my rotator cuff, its the hardest stroke for me to do and not hurt myself. oh i loved the pool, but between the torn rotator cuff, messed up thigh muscle or tendon or something due to a cold pool in the past, and the SI joint, just better for me to stay on solid ground, for now.......though if i can get the SI joint to stay settled down (drugs?) then maybe the pool once again, i have learned to never say never!

i have learned to never say never! Thanks, though! I was VERY aware today of making sure I didn't overextend my right shoulder, as is my habit. I've decided to be super careful about staying balanced and staying in form, which is WAY more important than trying to challenge myself. I'm not there to have fun after all, I'm there for rehab. If I could still do what I want, I'd be hiking, right?

If you wear a large plastic bag tied at the neck and a breathing mask and goggles you should be ok. In Lisas case she can tie the bag over her head. Kevin
