hoping this scary sounding procedure helps with your pain! then hopefully it will have been worth it! maybe they can put you out or give you good drugs while doing it? i'm a big baby, always like to be made unaware when they do unpleasant things to me.

hugss

No they have had to stay home lots of days because school was closed because of all the snow here. But they never missed it at all, in fact, they prefer it that way.

I have another cat-scan scheduled for next week. I only have 4 inches of snow front and back. Sun should have it melted by this week end.

LOL! i feel the same way about snow days! too bad college doesn't close due to snow very often! but when it does, we teachers are as excited, if not more so than the students!

I wish I could have a snow day sometime. Sadly, even in the worst of blows, my streetcar keeps right on running. The subway might go down due to snow on the tracks, but the darned 504 car keeps running. Darnit. wink

Warm hugs,

Kat

Lon, why this procedure sounds no more painful than cattle branding! We need a brave soul like you to step up and get your disc branded so we can see if it's effective. You are a real pioneer. Thanks for taking the heat for a higher purpose. Anxiously awaiting your report...

Hi Lon
I hope the procredure gives you some relief from pain. From my understanding the heat from the end of the catheter will coagulate the nucleus thus contracting the fluid that has been putting pressure on the nerve endings. Coagulating the fluid will also help keep the fluid from leaking outside the disc wall into fisures.

It's amazing how much pain we will ENDURE in the hope of relieving future pain.

good luck, make sure to ask for a Snoopy band-aid grin

Sue,
The Rehab. Dr. said that it is better to get in and do it without putting the client to sleep.. We will see. It seems that he thinks if I can barely stand it, then I am getting the meds where I need it????
thanks sue
