Ok....decided to shake the board up a bit yes

This is going to be about some of our favorite times and favorite people here at KICK.

You can tell good memories and bad but if you are talking about members here it needs to be no names.

Maybe memories of how you found the site, what you thought of it when you joined, who was the first to help you, who has made a big impression on you.

We all are so different that it will be interesting to hear everyone version or stories.

Ok, I will go first..lol

I honestly can not remember to save my life how I found the site, I did not have friends that were here, when I joined I knew no one..I never believed I would be so attached to a site, have friends, meet kickers, phone calls, cards, times of trial.

When I first came I can remember some here like Ladyfierce (met her) Sharebear, Jilligan, there are so many I need to go back thru and look.

I remember Kat and thinking WOW she must really like the boards because she has a ton of posts..lol

Ankush, my son from another Mother..lol thats why I love this site I have a friend in India...ME!

Possi (met her) the dearest kicker we have and her sweetness and love shows when your with her..I hope she is doing well!

Russell, my brother from another Mother..lol he HAS been just like my brother.

Megan, Bridge, Michelle, Teresa, Sue, Donna, Dow..now them be my girls!

Alan and Kev...well what can I say, I would not need my depends if it weren't for them, on some of my darkest days I have still been able to laugh.

Lon and Tim, our resident REALLY good guys!

Mig and Holly friends as well as my butt checker..lol keeps me in line with love..lol

I just know that before Kick no one even knew what Ankylosing Spondylitis was, I had to say it over and over ankle what? I finally would just say an immune disorder.

I couldnt actually believe it when I found others and others said things such as bone scans, prednisone, MTX, fusing and yall knew what we were talking about.

I think it would be safe to say that Kick has probly saved my life on more than one occasion, from the knowledge that I have learned while being here and seeing what others go thru, to having friends here that have my back and KNOW when Im having a crappy day what it feels like.

I will have alot more to say but lets see what some others have to say.

Hugs

drats! i just lost a long post! oh well, not meant to be! not tonight anyways.

here's one quick fun memory:

megan and me talking about wearing marshmallow shoes. that may never have come to be, but that conversation did inspire me to always wear flip flops in the shower. my feet thank you megan for that! smile

and one more. probably have dow to blame / thank for keeping me busy in that music thread and thus out of trouble for many months. smile it kind of took on a life of its own.

and my first kindred spirit here: karen. think it was the combination of two scientists with very similar symptoms, or something like that. heart

Then there was the time with Lon and me trading stories about the best way to chop down trees to roast T-Rex burgers out in the -60 degree freezing cold.

He always suggested using one of them Ultra-Manney 2000 Power Saws, while I would say nah, that's for girly-men, do like I always do, go out bare-chested, rip them mighty oaks out by the roots with my powerful, muscular arms and heave them over the nearest mountain...

Dow's Shedmobile. Lon's wonderful and always funny rndering of his mishaps various - and his gentle, and wise, homilies. Brad's loooooong posts! John our slayer of dragons and his terrif input on diet. Mig 'always' being there, with her timely, diplomatic 'appreciation' and sane help, especialy in a crise. Michelle and her superb courage and in the face of horrific events and adversity. Dear Joyce - her loving kindness and she is a terrif gardner - and yes, that birthday party for her: that was 'ace'. Kevin - well... Have met Kevin and his lovely Joanne and Mr Scoobs, good people. Always think of Kevin as to be like a great bro. Erika and her courage in adversity and her setting up the 'TEAM': great initiative (well done Erika). Wendy and her bravery in sheer 'coping' with all her health issues and a very demanding and exhausting job. Kat and her dancing and theatrical involvement - would love to get to see one day - wonderful example of 'grit' & 'keeping on'. Barngoddess - ah, an 'equine' soulmate - who also introduced me to LDN (may blessings be forever on her). AlohaBen and his pregnant fish? (Remember that story?) Alan and his very difficult surgery. Sue, 'supreme' poster in spite of holding down a very responsible academic post. SteveC, our witty lawyer, who can always turn in a 'good sentence' ( alien ) The two James'. Lisa. Megan. Rumble. Tink - whom I will get down to visit with one day. Europe calling includes Germany and of course gentle Hana and her lovely family. Sharing on-line experience of the Jachy visits - mebbe 'one day'! Mulehound and his mule - would be a dream to be out there on my PP sharing a trail ride. Ladybuggie - great turn of humerous phrase and will never forget her tossng a 230lb bloke over her hip! (Would love to say 'over her shoulder' like those tree trunks of Lons, but...<LOL>) Cindy - manatee - and all that she has bravely undergone (soooo many surgeries, horrible for her). Jeanna - our own (Dr) Strutsy, so very caring and concerned and Loz. Oh, so many wonderful people, KA members. Good going guys, and thanks for always being 'here'. hugss hug hugss

Those who are not longer with us - remember 'Old George'?

Was told by my 2002 GP that if I wanted to find out about AS to go look it up on the internet! OK. But he didn't give me 'any' clues as to 'what' to look up under. Didn't know 'what' ankylosing apondyltis' was - let alone how to even spell it! Fumbled around and came across KA. WOW. Lurked for several months, a bit shy to post as everyone seemed to know each other, lots of chatting, so I sat back and enjoyed reading all the posts. Told my GP what I had found...dada...KA; shock, horror, stretch of eyebrows - he meant NASS! Ha. Tried NASS. No thanks (BUT Nass is way different now. Now in a completely different league. But then...errrrrrmmmm) So KA it has been forever since - numero uno spondy support site in the wide world, with members who can communicate about this horrible disease, share moments of grief, sadness and glory and enterprise.

Then had my shoulder op, hemi-arthroplasty. That was when I started to post, wondered IF anyone else here had had one. No. But, anyways, started digging and then posting stuff as I found it.

Am sure that I have left out several people that I meant to mention/include, but reckon this will be a terrif thread of many memories. 'Smile'.
