Thanks luigi you were a big inspiration for me going there. Now I will see how effective it is.

I must remember next time to ask for the rooms across 216. I think 230-235. They are the rooms you can have wifi right in the rooms. And to bring 20 pairs of underwear because the laundry there is very expensive. 3 dollars to wash one pair. Your naked and submerged in water there so much mabe you can go commando the whole time.

Nice to be coming home to the good old USA. It was a wonderful experience being a bit of an exotic animal in a part of the world I never would have otherwise experienced.

Just catching up on this thread… too funny, the European sauna stories are spot on. The first time or two can be a real cultural shock. Eventually, you become desensitized to the ‘European’ ways.

I remember having the exact same discussion with a friend while on ski trip in Innsbruck years ago. This guy kept standing up and fanning the steam. The place was already rocking hot. I think it was a little of a ‘macho’ thing going on (how hot can you handle?). Personally, I’d prefer the female gyration story better.

Thanks for posting… I needed a break (and laugh). I’ll have to read the rest of this thread when I have more time. Also, I hope to hear more about the long term effects.

Still waiting for radon to kick in. I know it's early.

Been off enbrel now 6 weeks. I cant tie my shoes in the morning and am flaring up pretty bad at night. But it's tolerable and I'm looking forward to radon starting to work.

crossing my fingers for you. do you experiment with no starch, no sugar at all?? I think I remember you're gluten free, right?? Go all the way, baby. Take control of your pain while you wait for the radon.

I HATE not being able to tie my shoes. Ham strings feel like they've been filled with cement.

take care!

I will never ever try no starch again. I was starving my body, I felt irritated all the time and I was in the most pain I have ever been in. Three months of no starch/dairy and zero results, if fact felt worse.
Gluten free because I tested positive for a wheat allergy. Eliminated some gastro symptoms and generally felt better.

I was warned I would feel worse before I felt better. I just need to ride it out. The light is at the end of a tunnel I am approaching. Will just make me appreciate my good health when I feel better.

Why not stay on enbrel for a couple of months then wean off and see if the radon worked?

No families take so little medicine as those of doctors, except those of apothecaries.

Lol. Yea that was option B no doubt. But I wanted the full experience of radon, particularly how long does it take to kick in.

If it works and I go back I will stay on enbrel until at least the end of the treatment.

Still waiting for some semblance of results. The spine feels like I've been stabbed, tough getting in and out of my car and really tough doing my yoga. Makes me really appreciate my past usage with enbrel.

23 days post radon and I'm hoping this very strong flare is the storm before the calm. I had to go back for some reassurance by reading luigis posts. He didn't start feeling well, in fact he was flaring bad, right until the third week mark. This is as bad as I have felt. I am having pain where I never get it normally plus where I get it normally. Wholly jeepers. Well keep smiling because I know relief is right around the corner.
Anyone attempting this in the future just know this is considered normal. I think.:)

26 days post radon and the pain is debilitating. Woke up at 0130 two nights ago and couldnt roll over. Ribs were on fire and locked up. It took me 30 minutes to get out of bed and I almost couldnt walk. I took a shower, two aleve and broke down and took a 50 mg shot of enbrel. I really wanted to stay off enbrel, I dont like mixing therapies. It helped and last night my ribs were on fire badly but I at least could get out of bed.

I emailed Dr. Novacek from Jachymov and he replied this morning. He says the worst feeling is in week 2-3. He said I am feeling like this because I stopped enbrel. HaHa no [*bleep*] Sherlock. Of course I was dumb dumb to stop enbrel. I didnt realize the intensity of period until the radon kicks in. OUCH!!!

I'm not writing this for cheap sympathy. I can deal with my own pain. Just a warning for others and a reminder to myself when I do this therapy again that be ready for some wicked pain. worse of my life.
