sorry life is such a struggle at the moment hugss

yeh, sometimes life does seem like an uphill battle. i've had days, weeks, months like that, but it does turn around. it really does. and i'm sure if you think back, you've been through hard times that you've gotten through, use that experience to get through this period of time as well.

just hunker down and weather the storm, bright skies will return once more, even if it doesn't feel that way when you're in the middle of it.

as for good deeds, just take solace in that you've made someone else's life a bit brighter, a little less of a struggle. i'm sure that's why you did it heart and i'm positive it made a difference in someone's life rainbow

Hey Trish

Yeah, sometimes you wonder "what the heck??". But you are strong and a mama bear will always defend her cubs. I had to go into the school and ask about a locked classroom ( special needs kids...clearly a fire hazard). I never stated why I was coming in to talk to them but they were fast to take me to the door to show me it was unlocked. I told them I would be coming in from time to time unannounced to check on the door. I was polite but very direct. Lon had a good point about thanking them foir all they do...it goes along way for helping the dialog to move in the right direction. If you do have to go in don't let them pull the policy card. Tell them that stating what their policy is is just an excuse not to address the issue.

When I read about all you did in the flood I was amazed at all you put yourself through to help your fellow man. You are one tough cookie.

Keep fighting Mama Bear... I would hate to have to do battle with you in this situation.

I can not defeat you but I will not let you win

Trish, you have to do what you believe is best for your child. Dig in your heels and stick it out. I know how school districts treat kids as money makers, they don't want them transferred away. You will win, if you stick it out.

Our local schools are now asking that the parents of sick kids bring them in to the office for a few minutes so that they can get paid for the kid setting foot on the school property. Many parents are refusing to drag their feverish child out of their beds just to please the school.

Kevin said it well.

All I can say is you are clearly on e heck of a fighter so juat keep at it. Every no w and then give yourself a break and do something frivolous for your self just to keep your sanity.

Having a little thing here or there to look forward to keeps me sane. I had my first quiet night out with Diane in months last night. NOthing special but a little quiet for an hour or two, looking forward to it kept me going. I even look forward to the one hour a week I escape for a swim. A quiet opportunity to decompress and then get back to fighting and stress.

It sounds like you've got so much accomplished despite the woes fo AS and all the folks putting unnecessary obstacles in your way.

Hi everyone. You guys are my rock!!
Thanks for letting me vent. It has been a very stressful week to say the least.
Didn't help that silly old me has been hobbling along on a foot with a cracked bone because I was stupid enough to attempt to do some whipper snipping 2 weeks ago. Long story short, after much pain, I almost finished the whipper snipping only to have it stop working with less than 1 foot to go. So the pain and anger got the better of me and I gave it a good kick. Whipper snipper now works again but at the expence of me cracking a bone in my foot. Still haven't worked out who won that one. lol

I think I let things with the school get the better of me last night, hense the rant.
Yesterday another 2 parents (1 is my Aunt) concerns were finaly addressed but only after my aunt made it clear that she was related to my little one and that she knew I removed her from the school because of the same concerns.

This made me so angry but at the same time a little proud that my actions may have just helped 2 other parents get what they wanted for their kids.

It has been a huge fight to get the education department to allow me to enrol my little one in the other state school because we live outside the "catchment"
However I have wonderful news. Lunch time today I got the phone call to say that they have given special permission for me to Enrol her at this other school. I won. Though I still wish it never had to come to this.

I guess the moral of the story is it is worth fighting if you truely believe what you are fighting for is true and just.

Whilst I feel very relieved, the stress this has caused has not helped me at all. I don't know if it's from the stress but my mouth has broken out in ulcers and my body is so heavy and tense. Not to mention the pain and stifness.

Anyway thanks everyone for lifting my spirits it realy means so much to me. You guys are my life savers. When it feels like the world is against me I know I can always come here and have you guys on my side. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Or get a slap upside the head if I need it. Hey Kevin. lol
Thanks for everything.

Trish

all i ever think about are all the friends and family who left this earth too soon, before there time, and why it wasnt me instead of them. they can walk, they were smarter. my quality of life doesnt even register on the charter, nothing seems to matter to me anymore, and i am left alone like an invalid.

Trish, that's great news!! I'm so glad the Board saw reason, finally.

Now, about the whipper snipper and your foot. Please do take care of that foot. There's a smart aleck remark in there somewhere, but I can't think of it right now. I'll let Kevin and Alan look after that! grin

Just put your foot up and rest it periodically. I've broken metatarsals in both feet before. For a small bone they sure do cause a lot of pain!!!!!

Warm hugs,

Kat
