If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Nikki, yes I was diagnosed as having AS in 1988 when I was 19, they tested me for HLA-B27 and found it present so confirming AS. My eyes are fine now. Lost my login details thats why I haven't been on in a while. Hope your well.
John

Wow, I didn't realize this was an old post until I saw Old George's name. That was quite jarring, actually.
You will always be a part of KA, George, we miss you.

Hi all,
Only posted once on here and I have AS I am now bit worried about this topic, I hope You get this sorted and have the answers you were looking for.
I must ask what are the symptoms of this as the last couple of weeks i have had very cloudy eyes with bit of discharge, really tired and sore and itchy eyes should I be worried?
I am on Anti TNF, Enbrel as well which has its own issues.
Thanks in advance if anyone can share any thoughts.
Always look on the bright side of life!

if you have any concerns about your eyes, you should see an eye doctor.
i thought mine was just really bad allergies, but turns out it was dry eyes, which i tend to get when i flare. a few simple things help until the flare passes.
but if it had been iritis, uveitis, would have been even more important to see an eye doctor.
good luck!

I have uveitus and I have been taking prednisone drops for a few yrs now. I am also a type 1 diabetic with retinal issues and the combination makes for one crazy optical experience! Like other posters hv mentioned, it might be the creamy substance of the med that is causing the cloudiness or the actual flare itself. I get blurred vision, see lots of flashing lights and kind of a goggle effect where my peripheral vision gets pretty bad. Once the inflammation comes down, your sight def will return. Does your insurance allow you to go to a retinopathist or someone like that. Mine has saved my vision and manages my retinopathy and uveitus. Be well

I suffered Uveitus for a year two year's ago. It made me crazy. The pain was incredible. This was before I was diagnosed. I thought I would loose my mind. I saw two eye Dr.s and threw everything they had at me. The only time I got any relief was when they put the dilating drops in. I told the Dr. this and she just laughed and said that most people thought that they burned but they couldn't prescribe them. After my dx I had another bout of it and this time went to another Dr. carrying my printout of how to treat A.S. patients with Uveitus which along with Steroid drops included, yes, the 'dilating drops'. She agreed to it and this bout lasted only 3 weeks and the relief that I got this time was truly incredible.

Brad, I had the same reaction as you. First off, there was Cheerful's post and he hasn't been active here in a looooong time! Then I saw George's and, well, my heart jumped to my throat. That's when I checked the dates on the first page.
I miss them both, but I know that maybe one day I'll see Cheerful here again. Still hurts a little that George will never be here again.
Warm hugs,
Kat
