If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Steve, nice post. It too is hard for me, at this stage in my life, to understand people raging against people, especially innocent people. I am not at the stage of many here, but it is hard to deny this wretched disease has changed me in regard to greater compassion and empathy. I definitely am more quick to assimilate with those suffering. It has not made a pushover of me, I don't walk around with my heart on my sleeve, and have my limitations, but I do have a greater appreciation for those in distress.
Really, it is unfathomable to me that anyone could unleash such destruction and suffering upon thousands of innocent people. Regardless of who you believe to be the perpetrators of such heinous acts of violence and destruction I can't understand what could compel people to carry out such a heinous act. To the individual hundreds of miles removed from the activity, learning of these events as they progressed left such a hollow feeling. However, to see people willingly jump out of a building from hundreds of feet in height because it was the "best" option broke my heart and intensified the ill feeling already present in my stomach.
Much of that day, the meager activities at my place of employment, the news footage we witnessed at lunchtime, the relief felt when I was able to reach my college roommate who resided in Manhattan are all singed in my mind. I am sure most can assimilate. I don't think I will ever understand what compelled the instigators to carry out such acts of horror. However, I will always recognize and remember those who suffered and perished on that day, always be in awe of those that rushed into those buildings to save lives yet ultimately lost theirs, and always remember that too much callousness continues to exist in society.
Kind Regards, Jay

But one could further question how it was that MORE were not lost.... While 3000 souls is an outrageous loss, it could so easily have been 10,000, or more.
I was at work that day...my fiance (now my DH) called me to say that a plane had flown into the WTC. I had figured it was a Cessna-type plane and went back to working. Shortly later, we all learned the awful truth. Numbing video on TV for days, hoping that rescue workers would be safe, hoping that families would be able to cope, that government would make the right decisions....
Now I hope that the 10 yr anniversary doesn't cause more controversy than the event it attempts to commemorate. Honestly, to NOT invite first responders??? How crazy is that? I haven't read any of the news regarding this, so only saw the blurb that they were not invited due to space constraints. Haven't watched any shows yet...probably this weekend when I'm laid up after another pain mgmt procedure, I'll watch till I cry.

Sue,
Didn't Cantor Fitzgerald as an employer suffer the greatest loss of life from one company? I think they lost most of their people didn't they? yes, you are correct lisa. and 99% sure that is the company who's CEO? came on tv so visibly upset about the loss. that really stuck in my memory.

Yep one of the specials we watched had a lady who was like the boss at the Port Authority and they were in a meeting at 7:30 at the bottom of one of the towers right where all the subways came in, she said at that time in the morning a sybway came in every 90 seconds with at least 1000 people letting them off then them riding the long escalator up to the towers..as soon as the first plane hit she called the head of the subway and had all the trains stopped with 1 more coming in..but you just think if that had not been done there would have been 1 train every 90 seconds with another 1000 people which would have made thousands more had the chance to die.
We also watched the special about the hijackers and my kids were wondering about THE date and why they picked what they did and it was told that they wanted to pick the ultimate american signs (cant think of the right word) that would also take the most lives.
And Seb to what you said I believe that God has the power to change things but most of the time he lets happen what happens..like Rumble said I am really surprised more people werent killed that day because the towers held what 50,000 people any given day 1 good thing was the dumb hijackers by doing it early alot of people hadnt made it in yet but were on their way..I have no doubt if they had hit them at noon loss of life would have been way more..regardless 1 life lost to these terrorists is too much.
Hugs!

Steve, thankyou for sharing your journey the other day. Where has the time gone, 10 years already. I'm sure every American here remembers where they were and what they were doing at that exact time that day. I agree, the AS and passage of years living inspite of AS, does put life into perspective. We become more patient, caring, compassionate, understanding, more conciencous of others. We learn not to sweat the small things. Friends and family are most important. We learn to stop and smell the roses. We take time to listen and help others and love ALL. If we haven't learned these things then AS has defeated us and that which does not kill us only makes us stronger human beings.
MIG, I had no idea you brother was there that day
SEB, In your search for your truth dear, take time to ponder, God does not cause the " bad " things that happen here on earth. He cries with us.

10 years ago and probably at that time only a couple of hundred registered ASKickers. We had actually just moved weeks earlier from the old KickAS boards to these present ones. As is always the way with time seems like it was solong ago and it seems like it was just yesterday

SEB, The answer to your questions is that God give us all free will. His children do not choose to do what He wants, but what they want. God gives us free will because He wants us to choose to follow Him of our own free will, rather then force us to be His slaves. Because of His love for us, he set us free to decide to choose good or evil. Those bombers chose evil.
Think of all the people that were not in the buildings because they missed a bus,or had a dentist appt or stayed home with a sick child. Who would have guessed that a bad tooth or a sick child could save your life.
Donna Cherish your yesterdays, Dream your tomorrows, But live your todays. Do the very best you can leave the rest to God. God Bless,

Well said...and I have heard many stories of people that were running late, or taking their children to school or many other reasons so that they weren't there at that time...
Also saw where 1 man cant remember his name but he was on the 20th floor when it collasped and ended up on the 4th with just a broken leg AND then a group of firefighters trying to get out before the 2nd tower collapsed and made it to the 6th floor and when it was all done the 6th floor on down was still standing barely the firefighters were trapped but they made it out...just so many thoughts on this have to turn it off...
Hugs!
