If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I have a 10k mud run with obstacles, etc. That I have been training for and I am pretty much ready. I have run it twice in prior years and have always eaten a large helping if grilled chicken Alfredo as my pre-event, night before meal. Carb load, yada, yada.
Obviously I am not going to go off NSD to carb load and feel sore on race day, but I am not sure of a great alternative to give myself the energy necessary to run the race and not pooter out. My best idea this far is my smoothie concoction that I have for breakfast about 50% of the time and had the following ingredients: strawberries, blueberries, 1/2 pear, 2 spoonfuls vanilla Greek yogurt (no hidden starch) 1spoonful homemade vanilla ice-cream, 1 scoop whey protein powder, pomegranate juice, 2 tablespoons coconut oil.
1. How does this sound? 2. Any other athletes, what do you suggest? I will probably have that smoothie for breakfast on race day. The race is this Saturday.
Corey Husband to a fantastic woman, father to two amazing boys. Diagnosed with AS on 10/8/11. Ups and downs with meds after testing the NSD waters in 2011 and, oddly enough, running has led me back to NSD + no added sugars. Feeling great and am pondering my first 50K trail race...

Good question!
Your dietary constraints are different from mine, so I'll defer a response to question #1 and answer question #2. In my experiments, I've found that very high fat meals provide me the fuel I need to last. In addition to the starch moratorium, I don't eat any sugar and dairy as well, so that made things more difficult for me. If I know I'm going to burn a lot of calories, I'll load up with a monster breakfast: 6 eggs 1 heaping bowl of broccoli drenched with olive oil 1 tablespoon cod liver oil tablespoons of coconut oil before leaving the house and the some walnuts or macadamia nuts to nosh on (note, some people react to macadamia nuts, so beware)
That gets me through a lot. The bottom line is that transitioning to a high fat diet after going NSD was absolutely critical for me - Particularly as I slowly increased my activity level.
Good luck with the race!
