If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi, Yesterday, I saw an advertisemt in a local newspaper. One of the hospital has introduced a machine for "Full body cryotheraphy". It treats persons with RA, AS etc.,. It says the patient need to be in a chamber for 3 minutes exposed to -110 deg C (I can imagine many people wondering) and claims that the pain will be reduced and medication will also be reduced after the treatment. Whether anyone heard of about this treatment for AS or underwent such treatment?. On preliminary searching in net, it appears to be a treatment being followed. Post your comments. Thanks in advance. Regards.
Jay

Jay, extreme heat had always made me feel better, except for the last few years....maybe the MS brain has changed me.
IN my late teen years I worked on summer in very hot rooms in the meat packing plant. As they said to me then: "this heat will boil the puss right out of you" it did. I felt pretty good during that summer of hard work and heat. I was quite thin in those day....
keep me posted, ok. My best to you Jay!

I've heard athletes are using it to reduce inflammation after games so it sounds like a possible tx. from a symptomatic point of view.

It might work if the extreme cold didn't send you into a heart attack or stop you breathing! Don't know. Its not something I'd personally want to try. Ice packs on my SI joints are great though.

Hi Lon, I agree with you. Everyone knows that hot condition is better for AS patients. But this theraphy appears to be the other way. They state that at that cold temperature secreation of endorphine will be more. I have seen a paper supporting this theraphy for AS.

Hi, You are correct. This theraphy is used for RA, AS, Sports personnel and few others.

Hi, It is claimed that secreation of endorphine is higher at that temperature.

interesting! so long as one doesn't get frostbite in the process! but i'm sure they've figured that one out.

Hi Sue, It appears they cover the body of the patient appropriately to avoid frostbite.

Hi, Jay:
This is a nonsensical thing and no real "treatment." If it provides 15 minutes of apparent pain relief that would be the only benefit.
ENDORPHINS are great--get them through exercise even running; this is just a scam!
