If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi John, You obviously are not alone! So many of us know exactly what you are talking about!! I can relate to Dan as I suffer the bottocks pain as well as the groin pain. Hopefully it will lessen for you at least... mine was excruciating at first, but has settled down somewhat. It's still there, but isn't as noticeable since it's not so acute now. Unfortunately I've had it for about seven months now. My doctor is beginning to think that Sulfasalazine is not working like it should for me. It may be time for a change. Bummer! I'm glad to hear that you see your rheumy next week. If Flurbiprofen isn't the right thing for you, hopefully your doc will know it and will get you on the right meds. I'd recommend that you do as much internet research on spondylarthropathies as you can in the meantime. Go to the appointment loaded with questions and don't be shy about asking them! Good luck! Sharon

Hi John, Funny thing... that's where I first had my pain... exactly like you describe it. I went to my doctor & she told me I had a pulled groin. (Note here... I didn't know women could get pulled groins!) Anyways, she gave me some motrin & told me it would go away. A week or two later... it was on the other side as well & not getting any better on the original side. I saw one of her associates... who did some X-rays... and sent me to a rheumy. Long winded answer to say... yes I get pain there!!! Hugs!!! Melinda

Yes, I get pain there, too. I guess it's a normal part of AS. It comes and goes for me, but when it's bad, I can't walk at all. Hugs, Cindy

Melinda, You reminded me with your tale that I was sent to a surgeon at first because my OB/GYN suspected a hernia! Sharon

I can look back now and laugh... but at the time it didn't seem so funny... me hobbling around work telling people (with a weird look on my face) that I pulled a groin!!! Go figure... But an OB/GYN sending you to a surgeon... YIKES!!! Hugs!!! Melinda
