If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I've been on Enbrel since January this year and at times i've strugled to give myself the injection but today I JUST CANT DO IT. I feel such a wus but I was shaking and nearly throwing up as I held the pen to my leg, I sat for about 40 mins with it in my hand putting it against my skin then taking it off WHY COULDN'T I JUST PRESS THE STUPID BUTTON? I'm in so much pain today too and I kept thinking its only gonna be 10 short seconds but it hurts like hell and feels like a lifetime and even the pain i'm in with my back and hips I still cant push the dam thing. I made a call to my rheumy nurse but shes on answer machine and hasn't rung back i think this is it i'm at the end of the road for injecting myself I'm worried.

Hi There,
DO you have a friend or family that could do it for you ? I remember when I first start B12 shots I couldn't do it either at first. I would take it to my parents and my dad would do it. I am a nurse and it was still hard for me. Keep on trying , you will get over this until then get some help. You also could go to your G>P and get the nurse to do it there.
Good Luck, Janet

Hi thank you for your replies.
I think that is what i'm going to have to do get someone else to do it for me as I can't take the pain and hold the pen down at the same time, my reaction as anyones would be is to just pull it out straight away cause it hurts so bad.
Thank you again it helps knowing someone out there understands.

Have you tried icing the injection site to numb it before injecting? I hold an ice pack on my leg for 10-15 minutes to make the area nice and numb. My Rheumy's nurse showed me that trick. It really helped.

HI
The icing is a good idea also, and also let the Enbrel warm up to room temperature.

I think janet and donna have it covered, I can relate; i couldn't even prick my finger to measure my blood sugar. I got so nervous, I had to have my husband do it. but then i do think we get used to it and it becomes easier. good luck!

I actually like the injection in my stomach. If you pinch the skin together it is not too bad. Good luck and God Bless.

I'm so sorry you are struggling with your injections. I have had anxiety too with the auto inject pens. It does help to take some Benadryl before the shot to help relax you or switching from pens to regular needles, helps too. The Enbrel pens hurt.
Try to stick to your regular dosing schedule. I ended up allergic to some biologics from going on and off the drugs so lived and learned the hard way.
