If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Well, here I go...due to a neurological reaction to Enbrel I have taken off it and am trying the diet full on...I just finished a 3 day apple cleanse!...Sitting here realizing how my taste buds weren't even tasting before the cleanse...My fish oil has Stevia in it...never tasted it all until this morning!...Plan to keep a journal and see how I do...I assume my body is in a bit of remission from the Enbrel but hopefully over time as I wears off the diet will kick in an life will be well....I must admit some skeptism as I have considerable disc damage in the upper and lower spine as well as fused SI joints...which give me regular grief and I must admit I have not noticed any difference AS pain wise in the past...more IBS symptoms...but as Carol says watch for the next day or two...I plan to go not starch but track all I eat against AS symptoms so if there is a slip I can possibly track to what I ate... Wish me luck and prayers please. Laurel

Good luck with dietary change Laurel
Any questions bring them here, most have some bumps along the way changing to NSD.

Don't lose faith if the process seems to be going slow or not at all. I truly believe that a NSD will always work but it may take time, and lots of it. A lot of people give their success stories on here and talk about how after 2-3 days they were pain free. That is great for them, and I'm glad they are sharing their story, but I think some people get discouraged when their story doesn't mirror others on here. I think a lot of people give up without giving their body the time to heal. people's bodies change and react at different speeds. It took me about 3-4 months before the pain levels really started to drop, and I still believe 8 months into the diet that my gut is still in the healing process.

Way to go stick with it. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but way worth it. ETTE. Darrel

Hi Laurel,
I did really well last week, just fruits and veggies and a little fish. I know what you mean about the taste buds kicking in when you don't eat a bunch of processed stuff, you can taste everything so much more and it tasted really strong when you go on a fast. Keeping a journal is great, I did that too, it helped me keep the momentum going. It also showed me what foods really bothered me.
Diet change has improved my RA. I feel best eating raw veggies and some fruits and avoiding grains, sugars, nightshades, beans and dairy. Sed rate dropped from 65 to 19, but it took over a year. www.fatsickandnearlydead.com excess fat/oils = pain for me recipes for raw food on Youtube "raw food romance" and "healing josephine" Josephine is in remission from RA after two years by change diet/exercise

+1 on the "time" front Stay patient and don't beat yourself up if you sidestep, it happens to everyone it seems. It does get easier, and all the effort really is worth it I think, for the AS as well as general health... /Kristine
