I read that jonathan and Delicious are recommended but i cant find either...

Trying to get out of a nasty flair.

What kinds have you eaten on the cleanse when it was effective? and is the type very important?

I have used Gala and Granny Smith for a fast. I also used applesauce, the kind that is already made, not homemade, I try to get the all natural kind with out anything added to it, the only ingredient being apples.

I get out of nasty flares by juicing carrots, cucumbers and apples too. Hope you get out of your flare soon, it is so hard to be in a flare frown

Diet change has improved my RA. I feel best eating raw veggies and some fruits and avoiding grains, sugars, nightshades, beans and dairy. Sed rate dropped from 65 to 19, but it took over a year.

All the apples that we find now in the stores are from last year, right? Meaning they are either starchy or perserved by toxins. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I want to do an apple fast too, but thought I'd wait until September.

I had read previously regarding jonathan or delicious as well. If I cannot find, I stick to some type of red apples.

Here is link to procedure. Edgar Cayce - 3 days of Apples

Regarding waiting until September... if you starch sensitive maybe so. I have never really had issues with apples, so I do whenever I want. If very starch sensitive, maybe you need to wait until fall.

I couldn't find any of the recommended apple varieties found on the Cayce website. I have decided to do an extensive broth fast instead to get out of the flare. I am doing home made chicken and fish stock filtered out. Full of nutrients and glucosamine.

Hopefully that will get the Klebsiella out of my system and give my gut some heal time!

Thanks for the responses!
