To tell you the truth, I have been on the LDN for about a week. I cant tell that it has done much for me yet. I am still hopeful.

Fri, this week will be 1 month since I have taken my last Enbrel shot. I had alot of enthesis type pains develop while being on enbrel, I had never experienced these before. This threw my Rheumy for a loop when I seen here, when I told here that my back felt great, then I gave her this laundry list of things that had occured while being on enbrel. I really got the feeling that she didnt know what to do with me. She did some blood work, took xrays. Called be back and told me that my back didnt show any signs of AS, only osteoarthritis. She didnt mention my ankles or wrist. Told be to stay off the enbrel for a month then restart it.

I messed up yesterday, stopped by my dads, he had smoked some pork ribs. I ate 5 of them, I absolutely love those things. This is the only time that I have eaten anything where I def know I have had a negative reaction. I feel awful today, I actually have a new pain that I have never had before. When I extend my arm straight out in front of me, palm facing outward, was to signal stop. I have a muscle or tendon that will pull on the ball of my hand between my index finger and middle finger. My elbows are very sore today, and my planter fascitis is worse than its been in a longtime. My ankle pain is slowly getting better. The back pain is slowly getting worse. I think I am going to do a massive juice detox. starting next week. I have to go to new orleans the end of this week, not a good place to go for someone that loves to eat bad stuff. I am really bummed out. I am becomming a hermit that doesnt want to go anywhere.

Hopefully that LDN kicks in for you soon. There are others here that have had great results with it. Random pains(especially new ones) are frustrating but I try to use them as a reminder that something really needs fixing in our bodies. I'm hoping it's only short term while switching meds? I've never tried it before but have u done the 3 day apple fast? To me it sounds a bit less daunting than a 14 day juice cleanse. But hey, that's just me and I haven't tried either yet, so who am I to say.

I'd feel irresponsible giving you any kind of tips as to how to get out of your flares but I'll say that if your juice detox works, then you know you'll have it in your playbook for the next time. If it doesn't work, then you know to alter or scrap it and try something different the next time. I feel your pain Bax, I really hope you start feeling better one way or the other.

Keep me posted and take care

It seems relevant for me to share my experiences with enbrel. I started in March of 2011 and only saw improvements from the first shot. I was able to walk unaided for the first time in years (keep in mind I was 26 at the time). I was able to lift things, work out, live a normal life. However, about six weeks ago, I had to stop all meds due to a possible TB scare. I am now on crutches, a reduced to almost no movement in my hips and lower back. I am not saying enbrel cured everything, my UC would still have stomach issues here and there, and the occasional hip and back pain would return, but that was easily solved by NSAIDs. Now that I have been off enbrel, I MISS IT DEARLY!!!! My doc wants to try humira, when i can start everything back up. So I am curious as to the differences people have experienced between the two. I have the trifecta of auto-immune, AS, UC, and Psoriasis, and therefore my doc thinks Humira is better suited for all three.

take care everyone, stay positive!

been off the humira for over a year. felt good till last sept except for feet - all cartilage is now gone for some years making walking extremely painful all the time. Any one else out there with same feet issue?

reuhmy wants me to consider humira again to stop any further damage
