I have been experiencing extreme bone aches the day after I drank some alcohol. They mostly occur in the upper thigh area. Sometimes I experience it not after drinking alcohol as well but not as often.

I have AS as well as lupus and am wondering if that is connected to those or if it would be something completely different. Would this mean my diseases are progressing or am I allergic to alcohol? Ingesting alcohol also causes me to get a rash on my face.

I have decided to quit drinking as with the auto-immune diseases I already have it seems like the pros do not outweigh the cons.

Does having an auto-immune disease make us handle alcohol differenly possibly? What are your experiences with this?

Hi, madisonkillo:

Alcohol is somewhat hard on our tracts, to the extent that many of us experience increase of normal symptoms right after drinking too much. I have never experienced this, and usually feel quite well after too much imbibing which has only happened a couple of times, so not good enough sample.

It can increase candidiasis, it has been said by some experts.

But I am curious about SLE AND AS: You have both HLA-DR2 or 3 and HLA-B27? Difficult to deal with if so--Mercola has some success stories for SLE; similar to the methods You are already doing.

Wishing You all the Best,
HEALTH,
John
