If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I wanted to let everyone know about my recent success with bringing my spondylitis into total remission for 6 months now. I'm using two products 1x tablet daily of both: 1. B-infantis (Bifidobacterium infantis 35624) This reduced symptoms by about 50%. http://www.aligngi.com/probiotic2. Lactoferrin This in conjunction with B-Infantis has brought a total remission for 6 months now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactoferrinhttp://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Lactoferrin-250mg-Capsules/dp/B0013OQGBY(I drink it with cold water, usually after a meal, as the cold apparently helps the bacteria growth, and no hot drinks or hot food for an hour after taking either). For the past 3 years before I was getting swelling of my ankle, pain in my back, shoulder, knee and eye problems, so I am pretty excited to have reclaimed my life. I still watch my diet but not as strictly, as if I eat too much stuff that triggers mild symptoms (wheat, sugar, cheap oils seem to be main culprits). If I stop the treatment then the symptoms tend to return within 3 days. So I guess I have some persistent pathogenic bacteria thats population is decreased by taking these? PS. I'm in no way affiliated with either company, I just wanted to share my story in the hopes of better understanding my condition and possibly helping others.

Out of curiosity, are you taking these two products at the same time, or staggered?
Seems they should be taken with some time in between...
Cheers Kristine

Hi Rupy. When I saw you mentioning Align it rang a few bells from a few years ago so I went out and did a search: Class Action Lawsuit They were advertising to the general public when their only study targeted people with IBS specifically. Then this sort of update: "Procter & Gamble claims in its advertising, including the packaging for Align, that these health benefits result because 'Only Align Contains Bifantis®, a Unique, Patented Probiotic,' that will 'restore your natural balance and bring peace to your digestive system.' Procter & Gamble has no support for these claims, even though it states that it does, going so far as to claim it has clinical proof. Procter & Gamble's representations are false, misleading and reasonably likely to deceive the public," the complaint states. "Prominently placed on its product packaging and in its other advertisements, Procter & Gamble stated and continues to state that Align contains the unique and patented probiotic bacteria 'Bifantis®.' Procter & Gamble advertises and continues to advertise that 'Align is different because only Align contained Bifantis, a patented probiotic strain,' that 'brings peace to your digestive system.' For marketing its Align product, Procter & Gamble uses its trademarked phrase, 'Great Digestion Through Science.' "In truth, the ingredient matrix found in Align has never been substantiated, clinically or otherwise, and Procter & Gamble has no legitimate basis to make these claims. In fact, the only purported clinical trial that Procter & Gamble discusses on its website concerns the effects of Bifantis in treating symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease ('IBS'), rather than the general population, to whom the advertisements are targeted. Even then, the study concludes that '[n]o statistically significant differences between [placebo and Bifantis] groups were observed at any time-point' relating to daily IBS symptom assessments. Results from this Procter & Gamble funded study are not published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. "Two of the other primary studies relied upon by Procter & Gamble as scientific proof - O'Mabony et al. 2005 and Whorwell et al. 2006 - fall far short of substantiating the Align marketing claims. Both are heavily flawed." (Brackets and parentheses in complaint.) CourtHouse News 1. This is the Whorwell Study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16863564 2. Thia is the O'Mahony study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15765388

How did you decide on these two?
I was taking align and culterelle daily.
Thought I'd try something different, so now taking vitamin shoppe's ultimate 10.
Not sure I see much difference between the two protocols.
it does seem to help that I take probiotics. But Humira helps the most.
Hadn't thought about taking them with cold water and no hot food or drink after....interesting.

Thanks for the info guys.
I take the 2 items together.
There seems to be very little downside to both, so its worth giving a bash?
Please post your results if you do decide to try them, I'd be very interested to see if this works for anyone else.

How did you decide on these two probiotics specifically?
There are a lot of similar bifido bacteria and lactobacilli and others to consider,
so why these two specifically?Did you find research to decide on these two? Did you experiment and find these two to be the best? Other?

I always trust a forum poster who claims remission through certain products and only has 4 or 5 total posts... (detect the sarcam?)
Rupy, if you're being honest, than congratulations. But I think most of us are skeptical of these types of posts.

> How did you decide on these two probiotics specifically? > so why these two specifically? I tried tons of different ones, basically just trial and error.
> There are a lot of similar bifido bacteria and lactobacilli and others to consider, Yeah I tried those, but they didn't seem to be as effective, and some not at all.
@an0thermike: I've been on the forum for years I just never really posted much. I don't really care if you believe me or not, i just posted this in the hopes that it might help someone. I don't gain in anyway from this. I'm not affiliated with these companies in any way. So take it/leave it.
I would be very interested to hear if this helps anyone else though, as theres a small chance that we're onto something here.
