Hi all,

Lots of walking yesterday not for reasons I would have liked frown

Iritis flare so 1/2 hour walk to bus then 10 mins walk to hospital and reverse. Took all day would you believe for what is a 25 min drive. There was two hours waiting etc at the hospital though. the exercise was good just all the sitting kind of negated it.

Today up the hill as usual I don't think I was any slower but I felt like Pinocchio. Having a weird flare I think.

Good to read everyone's efforts smile

I would love to swim again. I started going again last spring and pulled muscles or something in and around my back. I kept going but things didn't improve so I stopped. I keep thinking about going again but as I seem to pull muscles or ligaments (I dont know what) so easily at the moment I daren't.

x

Grump- every time I swim my back is bad for 3 days. So I will go at it slower and shorter time period. I has me stumped, but it sure is not worth the back pain to go through this every time I try to swim.

I walked 1/2 hour with Lin and Lola. it is finally very nice here.

Saturday I ran 9.1 miles. I had planned on running 10 miles, but realized that was not going to happen. I don't know why it was so tough, but it was a struggle to make 9 miles. Then I helped my neighbor dig out a fence post. The person who put in the fence post used a lot of concrete. In the end we went to another neighbor, and had him bring his tractor over. He had it out in 2 minutes. We had been digging for more than an hour. I am sure we loosened it for the tractor. Then I went home, and took a nap.

Ally & Lon, bummer about the swimming hurting you both! 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week is all we need. And that counts everything from housework to snow shoveling to surfing... I love that!
smile

Steve... Really only 9.1 miles and then digging cement?! I'm sure you guys did loosen it up for the tractor.
smile

I've been taking an online course called THE BODY MATTERS online via EdX. I LOVE the free courses via MOOClist. rainbow

It's taught/organized by the MD who is in charge of keeping Cirque du Soliel performers healthy, and it's AMAZING! yes

Anyway, research clearly shows that stretching has zero benefit in exercise. We all knew that already. So ha!

I'm back at the gym doing 30 minutes of strength training every other day. I's soooooooooo fun!
grin

The first day I was really sure after, so I started swimming for 20 minutes right afterwards.

Good job everyone for keeping moving! cheerleader

Love to see your running log Steve! cheerleader

I thank you and the whole team for logging in, because that's what keeps me moving!
yes

Today I walked 1.5 downtown for the first time in YEARS while pushing little E in a stroller. We went to story time at the library, then to buy him some new sunglasses (he chose pink sparkly butterfly! ~ ah the fun of being a grandma ~ wondering what his dad will say roll ), and then to the yarn store. After that his mama caught up with us and drove us both home.

I've been doing this mindfulness course for two weeks and I'm already sleeping better. Yesterday I didn't need PRN pain meds until after 5pm, which is a personal best for me during the past 7+ years.

Happy Thursday/Friday everyone!!

Goooooo TEAM! clap
