If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Follow up: Week of Berberine and probiotics (acidophilus, sour kombucha) and eating nothing, but meat and greens (lettuce, celery, seaweed, cucumber, kale). It took about a week of this and the probiotics and now I'm 0 out of 10 to 1 out of 10 pain free (and have been consistently pain free for about 7 days)! this diet... it really does work.

Now that you've done rounds of antibiotics and probiotics, how often do you need to do them? Once a year? Thank you!

So I did the weed and seed protocol diligently for just over a year. I guess that would have been about 6 or 7 rounds. After that I just took the probiotic for about 6-8 months, as I was feeling really good and enjoying much improved starch tolerance.
Then this last Xmas came and I was super, outrageously, cheaty and was back in enough pain that it was time to do it again. I'm now on round 2 of berberine and feeling pretty good. If I still feel good once I switch back to the probiotic and stay good with my diet, I will probably not do another round for awhile and just stick to daily probiotic. To be clear, I never got back to square one: I can still eat grapes and carrots and apples and other low starch foods that were completely out to the question for the first 6-8 months, when a strict NSD was necessary.
The timing is really just about how I'm feeling (and is ultimately driven by how faithful I've been to eating low starch).
Suspected USpA. HLA B27, xray, u/sound, blood tests all -ve. Ancient history of plantar fasciitis, SI joint pain, knee arthritis. Recent history of tendinitis, neck pain, debilitating finger pain and stiffness (especially mornings). No diagnosis, no meds.
2010 - stopped eating dairy 2012 - stopped eating wheat 2014 - stopped eating all grains Jan 2017 - discovered NSD - 98% improvement in symptoms, continually amazed by my results, wish I'd found kickAS sooner

Thanks for all your advice and support. It really helps to hear not only to give me practical tips as to what to do, but I'm also really encouraged to continue hearing all the great results you've had. Many thanks

I still can't tolerate yogurt so you might try dropping it for awhile if you don't feel better soon. I couldn't tolerate any dairy in the first few months, even the hardest of cheeses (which are very low lactose) Hello there, I always had issues with trying to make homemade yogurt... after couple of years on No Starch (so back in 2004) I came across Stoneyfield Farms organic yogurt and I never had issues with that.. would mix with some berries in morning for breakfast. Now in Argentina last 12 years... last couple of years my wife (the best) makes kefir and I have no issues. I also eat sauerkraut (used to make my own.. much easier to buy organic all natural) and eat. Do think probiotics are important to heal the gut.. but if in pain, my cause some issues as well until gut gets more healthy. I can only speak from all my years of experience... everyone is different and body so complex, do not think there is 1 answer for all of us with AS. Tim
