"Gastroenterology found evidence of leaky gut in diabetics, alcoholics, smokers, burn patients, iron deficient children, schizophrenics and long-distance runners."

I always knew there was something shady about those long distance runners!

Seriously though, good article.

The age old problem of chickens and eggs, and horses and carts, is overlooked in this article. Journalists usually manage to make a pigs ear of it. In each and every instance you have to wonder which came first, the leaky gut or the disease. Surely having a damaged gut isn't the cause of wanting to run marathons? Perhaps it is all that pasta they eat! In any case, there is an immune response to bacteria in the gut even when it is not compromised. IgA is secreted across the endothelium in our guts, in our tear drops, in the healthiest of people. All this article is really good for is more confusion.

Love-melancholy is twofold: the first is that affection of those which put God for their object, and are altogether about prayer, fasting, etc.; the other about women.

'Then you should say what you mean,' the March Hare went on. 'I do,' Alice hastily replied; 'at least - at least I mean what I say - that's the same thing , you know.' 'Not the same thing a bit!' said the Hatter.
