Hi all,

This has been a very busy week for me and mine. My SIL left last night to serve one year in Bahrain. Even though he is a Navy man, and Bahrain is relitively safe and secure, I'm a little concerned for his safety. His job is Base Security so he'll be right there should there be a terrorist attack. I never dreamed I would feel that knot in the stomach that so many feel when their loved ones are sent into harms way. I know there are some of us who have friends or family members who are serving in the military and even some who are in Iraq or other hot spots right now...let's all say a prayer for their safe return home.

I went down Monday to help him pack, take care of the kids and to do anything I could to ease the situation. One thing I swore I would do before he left was to play a round of golf with him...which I did. BUT, due to the heavy rains Southern California has had lately, no golf carts were allowed on the local course (or any other we tried) so I, in a moment of insanity, insisted that we walk. Even in the best of times I have never dared to walked a full 18 holes. I am now a member of the walking dead! My pain is not that of AS...it's the pain any fool would get who had trouble making it to the mail box but walks 6,000 yards (actually, since I my trail went from the right rough to the left rough and back to the right again, it was more like 8,000 yards) It brought back unpleasant memories of the pain before the NSD straightened me out:( But it didn't stop there...with four healthy grandkids, ranging from 7 months to 8 years, I had no rest day OR night:)

To add to my discomfort, I promised my son I would watch my 6 year old grandson today because his mom had to attend a trade show out of town. Alex is VERY active boy who has a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do. As soon as we were alone, he decided to test his latest skills on me. Ever been beaten up by a 6 year old? Begging for mercy only makes them hit you harder!

I loved every exhausting moment but I'm paying big time now. I should have learned from Deanpaul's latest escapade!
