40+ years teaching elementary school with AS-that's amazing! Actually, 40+ years in itself is amazing! That's a tough job!
I come from a long line of teachers; both my grandfather and mother taught elementary school with AS (in my grandfather's day, it was called "rhuematism"-he'd be 120 years old today).
Like your father, I love teaching-it's my life. Unfortunately, I was teaching in a very high-needs area in the New York City Public school system when my AS struck big-time. I was told by two doctors that I had to go on disability (at 33 I felt that wasn't an option). So, I changed direction-thought outside the box-switched from teaching elementary school (my favorite) to university (my new favorite). Now, with this Radon Therapy, I get to do my job without pain. Life is good. REALLY GOOD.
BTW, How's Argentina? A friend of mine just moved to the UAE after a year there-she loved it.
