If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I don't think enough has been said about aquiring a balance ball. I bought mine Monday and started using it Tuesday after a few hours of airing it up, came with a hand pump... Mine cost 29.99 and came with a 20 minute beginners workout. I can't say enough about how much it has already helped loosen me up. I've got pops coming from up and down the spine. This rates up there with my Gas grill purchase. It's fun and doesn't seem like exercise. Just using it for increased range of motion would be a good buy, but it's like a home gym to boot. I'm getting bends backwards that I would have sworn a week ago weren't possible. Or am I the only one out there that hadn't purchased one yet?

HI Allan! Great purchase! I have two! I think that while stretching on the floor, we can only come to 180 degrees while in the supine position, however, on the ball, we can go 180+ with the backbends in a supported position. I LOVE them. Have you tried a biofoam roller as well?

Ellyn

The backwards bending is the main aspect i use mine for - except of course as a seat at the keyboard. Although i do some prone lying to slow kyphosis, i only do that for reading now - the ball must be better as it elicits more reverse bend. The first time i tried it i was like a stiff horizontal plank, now i can almost bend over and bridge to the floor - thanks to many many situps on my incline bench as well. I've just bought one and am going to give it a go. It was suggested to me as a way to build up the muscles supporting my lower back. but it sounds like it can be even more useful than that.

Elaine This link shows you 8 core exercises to do on the ball. Good luck! Ellyn http://www.acefitness.org/updateable/update_display.cfm?pageID=61 I don't know how to hyperlink it, sorry.... Edited by Ellyn1 on 07/16/03 06:00 AM (server time).

What's a bioFoam roller? I'm still using the ball everyday and it does seem to slowly, but surely increase the ROM. I take mine to work with me any sit, bounce, and roll around a few times each night. My lower back it suprising reluctant to bend much. I'm still hoping it is just tight and not fused, but it's a bambo pole.

Yeah, that's the flex I'm hoping for. How long did it take to go from plank to arch? Just curious.
