If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I've had periods of time when I've suffered from this, Kevin. Not too bad right now. At first, I thought it was linked with my GERD. Then, there was a suspicion that I had lupus - this was before my joint problems really got going. I had a lot of mouth ulcers with the generally sore mouth and tongue.
Now, I think it may be sjogrens or GERD - not really sure. I'm waiting to see if it gets worse with the methotrexate.

hi kevin,
for the last year or two or longer? i get inflamed tongue bumps, doesn't look like much (just an inflamed bump here or there), but boy do they hurt. not sure what causes them, but never used to get them. and sometimes sores in other parts of my mouth and i wonder if i did something dumb and just don't remember, but they seem to happen too frequently and never used to happen, so i wonder if its all connected. i wonder too, am i dehydrated? is that doing it? or is it autoimmune? or endocrine related? i've asked doctors, but no one is very sure.
as for dry mouth, mine is caused by the muscle relaxant, zanaflex, that i take. its not too bad though if i drink a full glass of water when i take the zanaflex, and if i'm awake an hour later when the side effects start to kick in, drink another glass or two or three. could it be medication related for you? if so, drinking more might help like it does for me. if its autoimmune related, i imagine that it could be harder to "fix".

Hi Sue Ive had it for quite a while. The only meds I take that could cause it are my inhalers for my C.O.P.D but I use a mouth wash after Ive taken them so it shouldnt effect my mouth. Doctors dont seem interested in minor problems. Its just so annoying everythng you put in your mouth is like its red hot.Have to drink more cold beer wont cure it but wll make me feel better. Thanks Kevin

Yes Kevin. Had it for years, comes and goes in frequency and painfulness. All part of the jigsaw I'm afraid. Time that really 'got' me was when I had an ENT appt, had had a horrible mouth of sores and such. Came the appt, and, all clear! Couldn't invent it. Sigh.
No. Don't do owt for em. Did try OTC stuff but didn't work and really can't be bothered belabouring the fact of the matter to the doctor - they aint interested and just look at one like one is...????? (Being a pain in de AS..)

yes kevin, that's the kind of responses i've gotten too. and like molly said, 1/2 the time its cleared up mostly. and if they can't see it, it doesn't exist, i can understand, if i was a doctor, it would be hard to dx something i couldn't see.
so, have decided to just focus on the big stuff.
i report it once so they know, then move on. figure if it becomes a big enough problem.......

hey Kevin,
Yes, I am having this now for the first time, and its awful. Having it along with the absessed tooth.
Mouth is extremely dry. lips get a film if I do not drink water tongue has small white blisters have large white blisters with red circles surounding them on upper lip and inside of cheeks. Feels like my mouth and tongue are on fire.
Even water produces a mildly uncomfortable feeling in the mouth.
It could be the sojgrens, it could be one of the meds that cause dry mouth, it could be an alergic reaction to a medication, it could be a virus, or it could simply be another symptom of an auto immune disorder.
Anyone find anything to help it go away fast? LOL
Right now,as per the docs orders, I am gargling with salt water (which burns and, I dunno, seems to me would be counter productive cause I get sores in my mouth from salt)and I'm rinsing with malox.
What are you all doing?
Hugs,
Chele

for the dry mouth from my drugs, i just drink a lot of water when i take the drugs.
as for the inflamed tongue bumps and any other sores, time. nothing else i know to do? but maybe others have solutions. i'd like to know. fortunately, they aren't all the time, so the just letting them go away seems to be ok for now.
