Yes, what are the side effects of changing your diet?? Most of the choices for a fibro-diet or an AS-diet are pretty healthy. It also makes you more aware of what you are putting in your body.

Glad to hear Marty is improving. I hope he finds the right combination of medication and lifestyle changes to make a difference in his daily life. I hope he continues to improve too!!

We really have to thank our spouses and significant others in our lives for being there for us. It can really make a difference.

Take Care

Lisa

Tomorrow I will start the full dose of Sevella 100mg. per day. Like you I am also on Remicade and Lyrica. It is hard to tell which drug is doing what when. I think only time will tell but so far so good. I might also see about getting my Remicade treatments every 7 weeks instead of every 8 weeks since I always seem to crash on the weekend right after my treatment. Right now I do not have severe radiating pain like I did before the Sevella. I will certainly keep you updated.

Gentle hugs

Too true Jeffery - NO side effects to changing one's diet, excepting for the good... And, yes, also makes one very aware of 'what' one is putting in one's body! Mind you am not that much enamoured of the 'London Diet', why? Am not in agreement of several of the items listed, like to the processed meats: know that the sulfates, sulfites used in processing salamies etc are not good for one. There are several other instances like to that. Also, don't go along with Carol Sinclair's food range 100%. Several I can pick out and disagree with ref to IBS, as know for ME I'd be camped out in the loo 24/7 - but cut down, cut out, eat sensibly and try out 'what' foods *do cause the upsets and CUT em out!

I love a certain form of cured meat over here. But, it does me NO good at all! Makes me suffer more so even than starch... eek2 alien And, IF a patient were undernourished, can't see the health in fasting. Not too sensible to my way of thinking? But that is just my opinion.

But, absolutely, find triggers and cut em out. (Wish I didn't like that meat soooo much <LOL>)

Oh Cripes Molly

It takes me forever to grocery shop... trying to figure out what ingrdients are in everything, plus the writing is waaaay too small!! Too much dairy puts me in the bathroom with cramps and "you know what". Still love icecream...love too much to give up. The fibro diets say to stay away from processed meats. Too high in nitrates. Makes the andrenal glands work too much which can cause a flare.

that's awesome! I hadn't even heard of it. I'm in a major flare right now and my doc says it's mostly Fibro . . . I'll ask him about this, I'm already on Cymbalta and he's tripled my Neurontin.
Keep us posted. smile

Hey, I have a question for you guys -- ever tried LDN for fibromyalgia? I read that there was at least a small scale study that showed promise.

Hey KA family smile

I just wanted to give an update for those of you who were interested.

I am now on the full dose of Savella 100mg. for fibro. This is the 2nd day on the full dose and I think I am still adjusting. I have had cold sweats from time to time especially after I exert myself, even a little bit.

The good news is I have very little fibro pain. The fatigue has improved but lingers at times. I also have a slight headache most of the time along with some minimal eye pain. Still a little bit queasy at times but not so bad that I can't handle it. These side effects seem to be a good trade off so far and I am hoping these "bad feelings" will diminish over time.

I have not had any change in mood as far as I know. Hard to be subjective on that one. I do not feel depressed. roll

I am looking forward to continued improvement if that is possible.

I also thought I would let you know I went on the Savella forum web site and saw a few people were not tolerating this medication too well. Some people had vomiting or migraines or both. sick1 Just as with any medication it may work for some and for others it won't.

Just my run down so far. I will keep you posted if there are any changes.

Hi Bridge

Hope you are feeling a little better today. Kudos for getting off the percocet clap. My doctor keeps telling me he wishes we could get you off the vicodin. I tell him as long as my hip pain is where it's at I will be on it. I do not believe I should have to suffer through a day any more than I already do.

How is the prednisone working for you? did you start at a high dose and then start tapering down? I hope you start feeling good enough to get back off of it. Nasty stuff but it sure works wonders when you need it.
