I love your energy attitude. Andrea. So full of life and , and busy with your passions.
Eating live food , instead of dead stuff, processed products,is what our bodies need.
BTW, could you or anyone recommend something to replace the coconut oil I gag down in the morning?
I want a quick energy source, when Im on the go? weird, I like the coconut flour used for baking but not the oil...

does anyone have a problem with tomatoes? i have grown tomatoes in my garden for many years. every year i have a spike in pain from mid august till october it settles for a month and comes back with the arrival of winter. that spike of pain in the fall i thought was from the change of seasons. now i know about as i wonder if my tomato harvest is to blame. that would be a shame cause theres nothing like a home grown tomato. mike

Tomatoes = Kryptonite.

They cause me hell. Make my insides all flamed up! I avoid tomatoes like crazy. Recently realized bell peppers maybe starting to do the same thing frown (ate a bunch the other night, and didn't feel so great afterwards) - so I pretty much avoid nightshades for the time being, though I still seem okay using some of my homemade hot siracha sauce on occasion.

I often refer to tomatoes at those "poisonous red berries".

I do have a great cherry BBQ sauce which is anti-inflammatory and super savory to use instead of tomatoes.

I'm now a KICK AS (and Kick IBD) success story!! After going low starch Paleo to heal my gut, I can now eat nearly all starches, grains & foods without inflammation, flare-ups, or pain. I used a modified SCD diet approach (minus dairy! plus cacao ♥). Cheers to healing & thriving again! I blog at http://www.forestandfauna.com/about/

You are so sweet!! As far as replacing your morning coconut oil, here is what I do each morning:

For a super quick source of energy, I make a morning smoothie with:

1/2 tsp+ matcha (finely ground green tea leaves, Japan origin)
1 cup almond milk (I make mine from scratch)
1 handful spinach
1 TBS honey

Blend in high speed blender (vitamix) pour over ice. This is a really great get-up-and-go drink, without the caffienne gitters & tummy ache coffee gives me. Also, this is an awesome appetite supressant, you won't be hungry til well after lunch time. I often sneak by forgetting lunch, and then eat something super simple and feel satisfied easily.

I also really like raw cacao powder. It has tons of magnesium & antioxidants, and some caffienne too. It has get-up-and-go, and the boost of magnesium makes me feel good!

My cacao drink:
1 cup almond or sesame milk
1 TBS raw cacao (raw cocoa powder)
1/2+ tsp cinnamon
2 medjool dates or maple syrup
Blend in high speed blender with ice added at the end to create a "milkshake".

Kleb_Slayer: glad i could help.

Poster: even when I'm not flaring, a lot of motions / activities will flare my SI. I'm assuming its now also mechanical damage causing that? I can't do anything that pivots the hips (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, raking, etc). I can't bend at the hips and stay in that position for any period of time (like if i'm bending over to do something, can't do it). I can't pick up something like a chair and bend at the hips to set it down. I can't swim. Those things all cause my muscles around the SI to go into spasm, for my SI to become inflamed.
