I have been on the diet over 5 yr's now and only taken healing gut seriously for about 2 years. Currently I can eat some fringe foods I could not before and some forms of starch (Brown rice) and not feel much stiffness from AS.
If I cheated on the diet quite a bit, my AS would return full force despite all my work over the years. So at this point, can not see how the theory would be factual for me in my personal case.
I am in agreement with Zark in that it relates to improving GI health (leaky gut) and also correcting disbyosis in the GI.
