Hi Sue
My ex-doctor was under the impression I was a nut case. I communicate better by writing things down. It's hard to get across what I am trying to say. In a letter I posted her one month before she fired me I asked to have the bone density test done. She ordered it, because it was written done. She fired me in June and then whe I got my file back, she hid the this test. It came back positive to Osteopenia.
Prior my ex-doctor said I didn't fall into the catagory of a person having osteopenia. I had gained weight, and wasn't a smoker. She didn't realize my other medical issues were causing me to gain weight. I don't take in a lot of calcium, only through supliments. My parents were heavy smokers, and I am product since birth of second hand smoke. I have many breathing problems. I already have a fracture on my spine, and at my clavicle, in front of my breast bone, this all happened in my thirties.
I was in my 50's when I started begging to have this bone density test done. My friend said it was unusual any doctor would refuse you in your 50s.
I had bronchial asthma for over 30 years. If I over do any exercising, I will go into an asthma attack. For this reason I take my inhalers. My asthma is barely under control, but I am more scared to take my inhaler as it has a stubstance in it I am allergic to so, I carry it and take it for imergancies only, along with allergies pills I take daily, because I don't know when I will need my inhalers.
There are many substances like medication, vitamins, over the shelf medication, I can't take because they have sulfa, sulfites, sulfates and/or sulfer. I have had anaphalatic shock in the past. So I do exercise in moderation. Try to eat properly, knowing if I set off a flair there is nothing I can do. Having liver disease pretty much eliminates every other drug, because it will do damage to my liver. (not alcohol drinker or drug user) That's why now I am asking to be tested for Celiac's disease.
hugs
Gerri
