The thing is, shoes don't have to look worn down to be worn down.
Any discomfort is a good sign. Replacing shoes every 6 months is not unheard of, particularly if you are wearing them frequently; if you walk or exercise in them, or if your gait is affected by your AS and makes you walk in them in a way that wears them unevenly.
I might even suggest, that if you've found a shoe model that serves you well, you pick up two pair at a time, and have a spare in the closet to try if you feel any signs of discomfort. Saves getting to the point of pain before you get out to shop.
In the meantime, and I'm sure you already have, give that hubby of yours a few extra hugs. wink
