Yay Sue!!!!
My PT works my ribs around all the time. They seem to be actively inflamed right now from the AS. My first rib keeps hitching up until I feel like my shoulders could wrap around my ears. My PT has taught me how to pull it back down with a there-cane or to have my hubby push them back down. Haveing rib#1 out of place makes my neck unable to turn left right and makes it hard to lift my arms up above my head.
As I shared with Sue earlier, I have a foam roller cylinder (6 inches diameter, 3 feet long) that I have to roll on while lying on the floor. This is to get and keep my ribs pliable. It hurts like wild-fire when you hit a rib that is stuck but as you move around on that spot the pain lessens and subsides when you get that rib moving again. If you lie on your stomache and have a buddy push on your ribs, they can tell the difference between the ones that move (good) and the ones that don't (bad). Then they can push on those frozen ribs until they get moving. It hurts during, but the relief is almost instantanious when they are done. My PT had me bring my hubby in to learn how to do this to me. Hubby was thrilled. (Not really, lol.)
