may be different in canada, but here in the U.S., my rheumy said that to qualify, i had to trial, i think it was 2 or 3, nsaids first. since i've tried ~8 nsaids and 4 cox2 inhibitors (before most were pulled off the market), i think i've passed that hurdle

and here, so long as we've been dx'ed with some kind of inflammatory arthritis, and tried the nsaids, we qualify, if our rheumies request the meds.
if one has tried the nsaids and shown that at least one or more work but aren't tolerated, thinking that is the best evidence for the nsaids. but that's just my thinking.
