Cody,

I really don't know what your site is like but I looked at Yahoo (UK and US) before I found this place, plus other areas and I can honestly say that before I found KickAS all the AS sites that I found HAD NO SOUL.

OK, your site is new and if have managed to get a remote smattering of what KickAS has, then good for you, but ALL sites need censorship.

Cheryl was soooo right in what she said about what information gets posted needs to be acceptable at all levels, and that goes for everyday life. Recently I posted back to someone I thought later wasn't worth it, but Loz's response made me think more objectively (something I usually pride myself on, but I could have easily got in a battle if'd just bit first). Loz in expert in what he does and has excellent communication skills and sums up the word 'humanistic' for me. Good job, Loz!

I have found nothing but admiration for the moderators and administrators here. They are the CORE of this place and what gives KickAS it's SOUL. So okay they lay the terms and conditions, but standards have to be kept as in any place or orginisation and I say a great big THANKYOU for their capability and expertise.

WELL DONE GUYS!!!!

Well Pete, you can plant the seed in some sick persons mind and out of some 700 hundred people on this site one or more may very well decide to do an attack at the Non Censored site just to see what happens. Just as some can have a seed planted into their minds to strap on a bomb belt and blow people up. I have always been careful of the language I use here at Kick## and only on a few ocassions have I gone after someone that I thought deserved it. The usual suspects seem to always stick together here and defend the "special people" and thats the way its been for a long time. Then there are the others that may agree with me but are afraid to go against the chosen few that carry the "special status". I won't post to this subject anymore, better things to do with my time than to speak to closed minds. I can just imagine the chatter that goes on behind the closed doors. It reminds me of the Priests that talk the talk but we all know what alot of them are really about.

LOZ---that was free SPEECH----NON CENSORED SPEECH----please don't imply that it could become a child porn site, that is just over the top and a cheap shot.

Noooooooooooo - no cheap shot. I'm really sorry you took it that way, it's not what I wanted to imply at all.

What I was trying to suggest is that thankfully your site can't become any such thing because you - like everyone - admit to having to draw a line somewhere, and that's all.

You and I draw lines in different places. My line drawing is currently up for review, and I'm learning a lot from all of the posts/PMs/emails for which I thank you and everyone else.

Richard -

First of all, thanks for the hearty chuckle. You picked a good joke to pass on. I'm sorry to know it has caused you pain, but I probably wouldn't have stumbled across your joke without the controversy.

Any human system is by definition flawed, and censorship is a particularly slipperly slope. I have no idea why your joke was singled out for bleeping when so many others more risque (sexually explicit) or risky (potentially offensive), including my own, have been published outright. I had thought of the sub-forum "Jokes" as a good place for us to let our hair down a little. It would be helpful to know the rationale prompting this decision ("testicles" okay, "balls" not?).

Like many others, I chose this forum for its balance of warmth and openess with skillfull moderation. I have yet to run across anything personally offensive herein, though the issue of overzealous censorship is generally a sore point for me. I would hate for us to feel so concerned about how to word a post that we forego posting at all.

Note: If there are unsupervised children accessing this site, the administrators are certainly not responsible for protecting their sensibilities; their parents are. Clearly, we adults can stand up for ourselves.

Please don't let this incident get the best of you, and especially, keep you from coming back. I enjoy reading your posts and appreciate your kind responses to others' posts. This forum is clearly what we make of it. You just don't seem like one to give up without a fair fight. Please don't suffer in silence and make me miss you...

Richard,
I truly am not sure what's going on and I'm sorry you are upset. I just wanted to let you know that you have been a special friend to me as well as many on this site. I hope that you will reconsider leaving. I consider this place like another family. As you know, all families have problems, but always manage to work them out. I pray for your understanding & forgiveness.
Take care,

Glenn

That wasn't very nice, one of Richard's posts is worth more than twenty of this type.
