Oh Maggie, sorry you had a bad night. Back off on some of the big hip stretches until it calms down. When you are in the water and want to try to float, try this. Lay on your back, let your knees bend so your feet are pointed down but the rest of your legs are on top, then stretch your arms behind you letting them float on top of the water behind your head. Many people have trouble floating the conventional way because of the difference in their center of gravity verses their center of bouyancy. Men in particular but also women like me have to do it this way. I even have to point my fingers up towards the ceiling to get the right effect. Play around with this next time and take it easy on the hip. Moderation is the key.
Have fun

Hey Cindy,

the problem with my right hip is not related to the stretching. I found that the stretch that I did helped my left hip after it had been so sore. The problem on the right side is a repeat of something that happened last year.

However, I have to back off for a while because of another problem that concerns getting muscles spasms in the chest. I did not even attempt to go near the pool today because I had some problems overnight. Tomorrow I will be too busy to get there and then I am not sure when I will get the chance again because I have the offer of some temp work for about 4 weeks.

I shall have to make sure that I am doing the "land" exercises, and at least try to get to the pool on the Saturdays :-(.

The stretches have been very good for my back and I have felt the difference since I have been attempting those laps and doing some of the other things.

Maggie
